Our friend Jordan Bush, a scientist who studies lizard behavior

What makes lizards, snakes, crocodiles, and turtles so cool? There are LOTS of reasons why these animals are fun to learn about, and our friend Jordan Bush has written about her top three. (Jordan used to be a student in our lab, and now she’s a graduate student in ecology at the University of Tennessee.)

Jordan thinks reptiles are especially interesting because of their behaviors, and anybody who’s watched how reptiles interact would agree. She describes her favorite reptile behaviors – how crocodile moms take care of their babies, how turtles like to play with toys, and how chameleons change colors to say they’re angry (a lot like anoles do!). See what Jordan has to say about reptile behavior in her blog post for Scientific American, Looking Past the Scales.
